Greek Yogurt Face Mask

You may have heard recently that the US House of Representatives passed a bill that bans the sale of products containing microbeads. This is so important because 8 billion microbeads make their way into our lakes, rivers, and streams every day! You can read here about why these microbeads are so bad for the environment and us.

You don’t need these harmful microbeads to exfoliate your skin. Greek yogurt is a great, gentle exfoliator. Yogurt contains lactic acid, that dissolves dead skin cells. When you rid the skin of dead, dry skin cells, you create a smoother appearance. This also helps to prevent breakouts and lessen the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

If you want to lighten and brighten your skin, add a squirt of lemon juice to your mask. Or if you are experiencing dry skin, add a squirt of honey. Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it sucks moisture in the air into your skin. Apply the mask to clean, dry skin. Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse it away.I follow up my honey mask with a paste made from baking soda and water, just to feel like I’m really getting rid of all the dead skin. Follow up with a moisturizer. I like to splash Rose Wateron my skin after the mask then apply a moisturizer and a squirt of Jojoba Oil. I apply this mask 2-3 times a week.
