I get very dry skin the winter. It’s no fun so I’ve been experimenting over the years to find ways to keep my skin hydrated. Of course, I drink plenty of water everyday and I moisturize but it’s not enough for my skin.
Aloe vera gel is an excellent moisturizer, it soothes skin inflammations, and it contains healing properties. Oatmeal contains both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it ideal for sensitive skin. I like to combine them for a face mask every morning in the winter for extra protection.
- 1 tbsp aloe vera gel
- 1 tbsp oat flour
- You can buy oat flour or you can make your own by putting oats in a food processor and processing them until they are a smooth, flour consistency.
- Mix the ingredients in a bowl and apply to your clean, dry face, avoiding the eye area.
- Leave on for 5-10 minutes and gently wash off.
- Apply a good moisturizer or face oil.
